Our Summer Arts and Play Program provides children the opportunity to deepen their innate creative talents in a magical and supportive setting. Students develop their imaginations and art making skills under the guidance of seasoned artists and educators. We are housed at a small progressive school set in a shady 5-acre wooded property. The school's classrooms and facilities offer a comfortable space to create and play indoors, and the fields and woods are perfect for exploring and finding materials and inspiration for all our art projects.
Our program accepts children from age 4-10, with some spots for CITs available for older children. The kids are placed into small groups by age; the groups have a maximum of 12 participants, and each is led by an experienced adult and well-trained junior staff. The children visit our various stations throughout the day, including art, drama, music, crafts, sewing and ceramics. At Blue Rock we let the students explore a wide variety of artistic modalities incorporating their own ideas and playful imaginings while learning to express themselves.
